Napoleon Dynamite
This movie has taught me to follow my first impressions

Ahh the witty tagline has returned! Anyway hope you all had a good holiday this year. Now when I first saw ad's to this on MTV I said this out loud to myself, "man, that looks really stupid." That was my first impression of this movie. Then I found out that it was a independant film. I, having loved Clerks, started to warm up to the idea. Then everyone I knew was telling me about how funny it was and that I had to see it. Thus a interest was peaked and I decided to check it out. First impressions are always the most important, this movie just straight up sucked. We are talking old school sucked here. Forgettable characters, stupid progression of events, and just plain out being stupid.

Now I have no idea how to even start to describe this movie as it is just one jumbled mess of something resembling a plot to another jumbling mess of a plot. If you took a piece of wood and stuck it to a squirrel using only chewed bubble tape, you get the plot of this movie. But see what they did to try to cover this up is they billed it as a movie that was plotless. Pointless would have been the better bill but you gotta fill seats somehow I will now attempt to summarize the plot of this movie as it is shown to you on screen. Napolean Dynamite"Look I am a nerd" brother is a nerd uncle is crazy cute girl likes mexican friend I like cute girl time machine crazy dance moves at the end. Now imagine all that as one word and you get Napoleon Dynamite.

Now if you want to see a good comedy check out Dodgeball or Anchorman. Those are good movies and they are actually funny. Anyway the only reason it got as high of a score as it did is because of one memorable moment that involved a school bus and a cow getting shot.

Final Score
1.5/5

And that wraps up the last review of '04. As I look back I see a lot of good movies I reviewed and a lot of bad movies. Hope '05 is as diverse as '04 was.

Happy New Year from your favorite wannabe internet celebrity,
Gavin
